4th of July outdoor decorations

4th Of July outdoor decorations are so much fun to make. I decorated my porch with just a few simple things.

Start With the Furniture

Let’s start with the furniture. The double glider was from Tractor Supply. I have had it for several years, but they have a similar one you can see here.  The chairs are also a few years old and again I can’t find an exact match anymore. but Amazon has one that is similar, you can see it here.

One of the things I love about all of my furniture is that it can be easily cleaned with the hose and a bucket of soapy water.  Because of the neutral colors, I can decorate for any holiday with just a quick change of accessories. You will see in this post how I changed this up to be 4th of July outdoor decorations.

The Vintage style stools were from Home Depot, I have used them for food stands and plant stands as shown in the picture.  They are also great if I need extra seating on the patio. To dress them up for the Holiday I added Bandanas. This one is sporting Cupcakes in the Holiday colors.

4th of July outdoor decorations include red, white and blue cupcakes

Decorate the Gate

The chain-link fence gate has been fun, it lends a Farmhouse feel. This gate has also been fun to have to decorate since you can hang so many different things in it.  Speaking of hanging things on it the clock was also from Tractor Supply. They still have a similar one, in fact, I like it better.  I swagged 2 scarfs from the Dollar Tree at the top.  I made the tags and stars. (post coming)

Give the Plants a Party

Even the plants got some Red, White, and Blue. I love the whirligigs. They just say summer breeze to me, and I find them mesmerizing.  I used Red and White Vinca flowers because they are one of the few that can take our Arizona summer heat and still look pretty.

Plants can be 4th of July outdoor decorations too

Make a Coffee Table/ Drink Tub

The coffee table I also made. It came to me that not only would it work as a coffee table, but since the top comes off I could use it to ice off drinks for a party. It’s big so it would hold a lot of cans or bottles.  It would also work as storage for a blanket for chilly evenings on the porch, or even to store seasonal pillows in.  The tutorial on how to make it is here.

Then Make the Coasters

I made the coasters from mason jar lids and burlap with a patriotic theme.

I added pillows to the chairs and glider to add to the patriotic theme. Did you notice that I picked red and blue fruit on the chair pillows? The blue and white stars pillow I have had a long time, and it comes out for every patriotic holiday.

Invite Some Friends to Admire Your Work

I had my first guests come for a visit to the porch.  Somebody had to taste test the lemonade, right?

Guests visit

Doesn’t my dog look pretty and sweet and maybe even well behaved?  Here is a picture from just before that one. I had to share this because it made me laugh. I had a volunteer to taste the cupcakes.
