5 Steps to the Most Irresistible Decoupage Bunny

Happy Spring! What says Spring better than a pretty little bunny?  Lets “hop” right into making one. I have included a video tutorial at the end of this post.  So here ya go all 5 steps to the most irresistible decoupage bunny. If you need a quick little piece of decor this can be done in an afternoon, with only about an hour of hands-on time. But then there is drying time too.

Materials for decopauge bunny

Most of the items you need can be purchased at Dollar Tree, but I have given you links in case you can’t get what you need there.

Paper Bunny- I got mine at Target

Modge Podge

Tissue Paper

Paint Brush

Scissors

1/4 inch ribbon to match your paper

Flower

Step 1

Cut up the paper into squares, about 2 inch squares would be best.  I cut mine too big and had to stop and make them smaller.

Step 2

Apply the Modge Podge to the bunny. Take the paper one piece at a time and put onto the bunny using the Modge Podge like glue. If there are any crumples in the paper put some more Modge Podge on to wet it down, then smooth the wrinkle out with your fingers.

Step 3

Let dry completely. Good time for some coffee and cookies? Wine and cheese? After it’s completely dry put on another coat of Modge Podge. Smooth down any sharp edges that might have come up during drying.

Step 4

Make the bow. Start by making 2 small loops. Wrap one loop around the back of the other. Take the piece you just wrapped and push it through the circle you just made. Now you have a slip knot and can adjust the size of the loops.

Now position the bow where you want it to be and hold for about 30 seconds so it sticks to the Modge Podge. then wrap the end of the ribbon around the bunny neck and cut. Hold the tails in place for a few seconds so they also are glued unto place by the Modge Podge. Sorry if you hate sticky fingers it’s just part of decoupage. Guess I should have warned you upfront, huh?

Step 5

Add the flower.  Cut a single flower from a stem.  Make sure you pull out the little center piece of plastic, or it will not lay flat. Now using the Modge Podge as glue attach it.
